- The Assets Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON) announced on Friday, February 9 that it was taking over Arik airline

Reno Omokri has warned that the federal government would kill the Arik
the way it allegedly allowed other airlines leave the country
Since
2015 when Muhammadu Buhari became the president of Nigeria, 14 airlines
have left the country because of its harsh economic condition, Reno
Omokri, an aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan has said.
Omokri said this while reacting to the take-over of Arik airline by the Assets Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON).
AMCON reportedly announced it was
taking over the alleged distressed airline on Thursday, February 9,
2017 but Arik says it would challenge this decision by the government
agency.
Omokri, who has remained a
staunch critic of the present government, said no airline would survive
once taken over by the Nigerian government.
“With what's been done to Arik, the Nigerian government wants to turn itself to an undertaker for businesses in the country,”
he said adding that just as the country chased away international
businessman Richard Brason and his V*rgin Atlantic with bad policies, it
wants to destroy Arik.
